REDLINE RACEWAY TROPHY AND FUN DAY THIS SUNDAY
Redline Raceway have their final race day of the season this Sunday when a number of divisions will hit the track for a ‘Fun Day - Trophy Day’ with some fun on track witch include handicap start and mechanics races.
Amongst divisions showing an interest with good nominations are the Street Stocks, Open Sedan’s, Formula 500’s, Vintage Super Modifieds, Standard Saloons and the actual mechanics racers. Other divisions are in the process of finalising some nominations.
The day is being promoted as a fun day with drivers having two heats each and trophies determined on points from the heats and then racers being encouraged to join in any handicap races and hand their car over to somebody else for the mechanics race.
Who can forget when Chaplain Noel Mitaxa drove a Ferguson family Street Stock! This year who knows, maybe its club secretary Ruth Pearson’s turn to have a crack & wouldn’t we love to see President Mick Purdie squeeze into that little yellow Sigma and run against Bob Whittle in the Charger?
An extra bonus will be that Vintage Super Modifieds will be in action and the open wheel pre cursers to Sprintcars as we know them today are quite entertaining although a demonstration division. Graeme Pitcher, Gary Hamblin, Graeme Briggs and Jim Duggan. For people who remember what Sprintcars used to look like you should get to Redline and take a look at what other venues have already discovered.
Gates Open to the public at 10.00am racing begins at midday with prices at $20 for adults, $15 for age and disabled Pensioners and $5 for kids from the age of 8 to 16 cost is $5 and fewer than 8 is free.
